Strategic Finance Intern

AbCellera is breaking the barriers of conventional drug development to propel antibody-based medicines from target to clinic. We have developed technologies to unlock high-value drug targets, including antibody-drug conjugates and T-cell engagers for cancer, and antibodies targeting complex transmembrane proteins for indications such as metabolic and endocrine conditions, pain, and autoimmunity.
We are looking for a motivated and talented individual currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or another relevant field to join our Strategic Finance team as a co-op or intern for an 8 month term, starting in May 2025. As a member of our team, you will collaborate with us on research, analysis, and reporting tasks in support of the company’s decision making.
While in this on-site position, based in beautiful Vancouver, you will receive guidance and supervision from experienced team members within the Strategic Finance team. The internship is designed to offer exposure to real-world projects and the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of antibody-based medicines from target to clinic within Canada.
How you might spend your days
Conducting independent research on various factors around drug development to support financial modelingContributing to resource allocation reviews for internal programs through supporting report generation, analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand progress on programs and re-forecast investment requirements Owning a number of processes during our quarterly close, and generating materials to support earnings call preparationAssisting in the optimization of financial models and systems to enhance operations and strategic decision makingWe'd love to hear from you if
You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related fieldYou have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and other data and draw actionable insights; prior co-op or internship experience in finance, consulting, or accounting would be considered an assetYou are proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, and are looking forward to gaining exposure to other financial analysis tools such as SAP SAC and Monte Carlo simulationsYou have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teamsYou are detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.You have a keen interest in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, and are eager to apply your skills towards an impactful missionWhat we offer
AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $3,300 - $3,700 per month, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, we offer a number of ways to support AbCellerites in maximizing their work-life synergy. You will have a vacation allowance as well as additional days off as part of our company-wide office closures (a real value to all), and sick leave time while on your internship. Scientific and technical mentorship is a priority. And you’ll find we prioritize teams and social groups to build community and connections across AbCellera.
