Tetra Tech is currently seeking a  Senior Geophysicist  to join our expanding near-surface geophysics team on a permanent full-time basis. Our Geophysics Group has team members in Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver, and utilizes a flexible hybrid work model. We primarily work on projects across Western and Northern Canada and occasionally have opportunities to pursue international projects. Much of our work is completed in collaboration with engineering groups within Tetra Tech, which has allowed our team to specialize in complex interdisciplinary projects.

We work with our clients, both internal and external, to determine unique solutions to their problems. Through servicing a large variety of industries and clients, we have been able to build our team consistently and sustainably for many years, while fostering the advancement of geophysical applications for engineering projects. As we continue to grow our team and services, we seek to add a strong senior technical team member.

Some of the Responsibilities You May Have:

Acting as the technical lead and client contact for a large variety of geophysical projects for methods including, but not limited to, seismic refraction, MASW, VSP, ERT, electromagnetics, downhole, marine, non-destructive testing, and GPR. Leading proposals and pursuing business development opportunities. Establishing and maintaining client relationships to support the growth of the group. Mentoring junior staff. Working collaboratively with other team members and disciplines within Tetra Tech. Overseeing and supporting on-site data collection, if needed. Representing Tetra Tech as a leading industry expert when interfacing with our clients. Promoting geophysics within the consulting engineering industry.

Qualifications that Would Make You A Great Candidate:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Geophysics from a recognized University. Registered as a P.Geo. with APEGA or another Canadian jurisdiction. Strong all-round technical understanding of current near-surface geophysical methods. Minimum 15 years of experience. Strong industry connections. Project management and business development experience. Ability to clearly communicate information about geophysics and method limitations. Strong leadership skills. Personable and experienced in communicating and collaborating with people of varying educational and technical backgrounds Technical writing expertise. Experience with computer software and programming languages, including Matlab, Res2DInv, ReflexW, WellCAD, ArcGIS, and Surfer. Dedication to safety when planning and overseeing the execution of fieldwork. Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's LicenseMust be physically capable of performing geophysics fieldwork. Travel may be required at times in this position.
