Overview Senior Backend Engineer - Product (Toronto / Montreal) at US Mobile. We are looking for an exceptional backend engineer and hands-on architect to help us scale and connect millions of devices to wireless networks. You will work on projects with potential impact and tackle scaling challenges as part of a fast-growing, venture-backed team. The role is based in Toronto (onsite) with sponsorship-free applicants welcome. Responsibilities Architect optimal solutions to our business problems Deploy exciting new features Help us scale to tens of millions of customers and connected devices Build quality tools and frameworks to ensure a high-quality product Build systems to ensure continuous uptime Qualifications 8+ years of experience building enterprise-ready platforms handling high transactional volumes Strong knowledge of Java 8+ (onwards), Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud Strong knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL concepts Hands-on API design experience Hands-on microservices and architecture experience using Spring Boot, RabbitMQ, Docker, and Kubernetes Hands-on experience with event sourcing and CQRS Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills Experience with scale and high-traffic applications Familiarity with security, reliability, and high availability considerations Bonus Points Experience with Google Cloud and services like GKE, Dataflow, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub Experience with Kotlin and Scala; familiarity with Python/Node.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript Experience with Domain-Driven Design and Event Storming Read Clean Code and Clean Architecture Prior startup experience; being scrappy can help Benefits Competitive salary Flexible working hours Supplemental health insurance Professional development stipend $500 WFH tech setup reimbursement Job Details Seniority level: Not Applicable Employment type: Full-time Job function: Engineering and Information Technology Industries: Telecommunications #J-18808-Ljbffr
