Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Our client is a leader in online gaming with a new Toronto office at Yonge and Eglinton. They have engaged ROSS ( ) to help them recruit a BI / database developer. ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide remote or onsite HR and Recruitment solutions. This company is profitable and stable with over 300 employees worldwide. You’d join their exciting and new technical centre of excellence in midtown Toronto. Although highly desirable, you don’t have to know anything about sports betting; our client will fly you down to the Caribbean all-expenses paid for 1-2 months to teach you this domain. Responsibilities: Hands-on ETL development using TSQL and Integration Services (SSIS) including associated performance tuning. Participate in data modeling, relational and star-schema design and implementation. Data Warehouse day-to-day administration including reviewing ETL load jobs for consistency and quality, and performance monitoring. Gather and analyze business requirements, functional requirements, and data specifications for ETL, dashboards and other business reporting needs. Design, develop and maintain reports and dashboards based on business requirements using Reporting Services and ASP.NET. Participate in developing and maintaining best practices as they relate to ETL, report design, and data quality/governance strategies. Research data warehousing/business intelligence trends and technological innovations to make appropriate development recommendations. Provide support to business users and application developers. Required Skills and Experience: 6+ years of Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence work experience using Microsoft BI technologies (SQL Server, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, etc…) 10+ years of combined experience as Software Developer, Database Developer or Database Administrator. Strong and current database programming skills with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and above, including strong TSQL skills and performance tuning abilities. Strong database design skills, including star-schema. Good Data Modeling skills. Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end Business Intelligence applications according to business specifications. Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Analysis Services. Experience designing and implementing OLAP Cubes. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to multi-task and work on several different projects. Desirable: Extensive experience integrating BI solutions with Excel. Power Pivot experience. Share Point administration. Few years of software development experience, preferably using .NET. Experience using non-Microsoft BI technologies (i.e. Cognos, Qlikview, etc…). #J-18808-Ljbffr
