Further develop your knowledge and technical skills in hydrogeology through challenging projects. Engage in both field and office-based hydrogeology work on projects such as tailings and water storage dam seepage mitigation, mine water management, dewatering/depressurization, water supply, groundwater impact assessments, and other environmental and engineering applications. Conduct groundwater and hydrochemical analysis and modelling. Provide input and be recognized for your contributions to the team and projects. Broaden your professional practice by working on multi-disciplinary engineering projects while maintaining your focus in hydrogeology. What we require: A degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geological Engineering or a related field, with a track record of continued development. At least three years’ experience in hydrogeology related to tailings and water storage dams, mine water management, dewatering, water supply, and/or contaminant hydrogeology. Willingness to travel to remote sites for field work. Experience designing, installing and field testing of wells for water supply projects, aquifer feasibility studies, dewatering/depressurization and/or groundwater monitoring projects. Experience in implementing and undertaking groundwater and environmental monitoring and sampling programs. Working knowledge of industry standard software packages including AQTESOLV, Leapfrog, Geostudio (SEEP/W) and GIS software. Eligibility to become professionally registered in your home jurisdiction. An ability to build relationships with multidisciplinary project-based teams. Experience in a safety-focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirements. The salary for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 per year, based on applicable experience, education, and skill level. Additional ideal qualifications: Working knowledge of industry standard groundwater modelling software packages such as MODFLOW and/or FEFLOW (considered an asset). An ability to find creative solutions and present them effectively. A willingness to mentor others and be mentored. Ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and industry partners. Demonstrated flexibility and a solutions-oriented mindset.
