Manager, Canadian Segment IT Finance

The Canadian IT Finance team provides financial advice and comprehensive reporting for Canadian IT, supporting the CIO and leadership team across five global segments. With $1.8 billion in annual IT expenses, the team manages a complex expense base of over 12,000 FTEs, 1,500 applications, and 500 vendors. Position Responsibilities Consolidated Reporting: Support the production of consolidated financial reports for the Canadian IT function, including the monthly operating report and tracking progress against targets and program success. Financial Planning & Forecasting: Assist with the annual financial planning and monthly forecasting for IT, coordinating projects, performing result analysis, messaging, and ensuring a consistent approach across the function. Analysis: Conduct key financial analyses for Canadian CIO, Segment CIOs, CFOs, and GMs, covering budgeting, reporting, and providing recommendations on expenses, cost benefits, vendor analyses, offshoring, and staffing models. Support for IT Strategy: Provide financial analysis and advice for critical initiatives, board reporting, and support Business Architecture with financial analysis of optimization opportunities. Transformation: Enhance process efficiency and information quality, support the ExFit program, and provide input on its direction and impact on the IT Finance team. Required Qualifications Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) preferred with 5+ years of related experience. Strong financial planning & analysis experience. Knowledge of sound business practices, controls, and accounting/audit principles. Exceptional business sense in IT functions, capitalization, and project accounting and reporting. Forward‑thinking leader with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and financial modeling skills. Effective multitasking, prioritizing, and working under deadlines. Flexible, self‑motivated, and a critical thinker with excellent judgment. Skilled in building strong relationships and negotiating with senior collaborators. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for conveying complex ideas clearly. Proficient in accounting and systems (IFRS, SmartView, PowerBI preferred) with strong project management abilities. Collaborative teammate committed to transparency and innovation.
