Our team designs, manufactures, and installs robotic solutions globally, accelerating drug discovery, synthetic biology research, and clinical testing for major pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers. Learn more about Laboratory Automation on our websiteyou will make an impact:**As a Sr. Field Application Specialist, you play an important role in the implementation of custom automated laboratory projects. This will be achieved through applying Thermo Fisher Scientificu2019s Momentumu2122 Automation Workflow software and will include testing & problem solving of automated robotic systems integrated with specialized instrumentation to defined specifications Understanding the customeru2019s scientific workflows will enable you to optimize processes for efficiency and consistent high-quality results.**What you will contribute:**Team CollaborationCollaborate with multi-functional project teams that include the end customer, Application Scientists, Project Managers, Integrators, Designers, and Software Developers to plan and develop ETO solutionsOptimize the customeru2019s workflows while delivering reliable resultsLead discussions as the domain guide and provide customers with system introduction-level trainingShare feedback with internal teams to help drive and implement continuous improvementsKey ResponsibilitiesTranslate customer scientific requirements to develop, implement, and validate sophisticated large-scale automated workflows using our scheduling software coordinated with a wide array of diagnostic laboratory instruments.Serve as the technical lead in defining data-handling requirements and configuring systems to get along with the customeru2019s Lab Information Management System (LIMS) as needed.Teach and optimize robot/mover motion and workflows for efficiency and reliabilityConduct robust testing strategies to ensure customer happiness and optimally achieve site acceptance test (SAT) approvalEnsure systems are coordinated according to protocols and defined standard operating proceduresMaintaining uptime and providing technical assistance to ensure continuous operation of Thermo Fisher manufactured productsLead support requirements for third-party instruments integrated into the robotic system.**How will you get there?**Education:Bacheloru2019s degree in science (Biology, Chemistry, Computer), Engineering, or related fieldExperience:8 years minimum relevant industry experience5 years in a role directly collaborating with customers in a professional environmentExperience in Pharma or Biotech industries working with laboratory instrumentation considered an assetKnowledge & Skills:High proficiency in software problem-solving techniques and ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical devicesStrong analytical skills to identify and address appropriate solutions to complex requirementsProficiency with programming languages (C++, Python, or other)Familiarity with IQ/OQ validation or GxP requirements is preferredSolid understanding of software and computer communicationsDemonstrated ability to lead, influence and collaborate with customers and various team functionsStrong organization, planning and time leadership skills**Other Requirements:**Valid PassportAbility to travel 75% of the time internationally without restrictionsAt Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 125,000 outstanding minds has a unique story to tell.
