Electrical Engineer

This position is part of our Energy Storage Solutions team (ESS) and a key player in developing solutions with the highest value proposition for energy storage, micro‑grid management and power distribution projects, starting from presales to commissioning activities. The role requires engagement in multiple aspects of Energy Storage Systems, from technology concepts and system architecture to integration with customer systems across electrical, electrochemical and automation domains. It also oversees Engineering‑to‑Order (ETO) project management from order booking to commissioning, focusing on quality, coverage, performance, delay and cost. The position is mainly focused on the North American market and requires knowledge of North American regulations and their impact on products, systems and installations. Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities Act as the technical expert member of the Energy Storage Solutions team for North America. Serve as the technical liaison between the local team, Global R&D, and Engineering organization. Provide technical support (remotely or at the customer site) for requests at every stage of the project. Actively participate in evaluating technical feasibility, risks and challenges of projects and propose solutions per established procedures and standards. Analyze data/interpret available power system studies, propose and coordinate complementary studies, and conduct site audits to develop successful business solutions. Professionally work on the system integration and design of energy storage and microgrids, including sizing, architecture, standards and risk analysis. Define and validate operating modes for on‑grid services and microgrid management, including power generation from diesel generators, solar plants or other renewable energy sources. Prepare technical specifications for projects and equipment and maintain all relevant project documentation. Perform power system engineering analysis of industrial, commercial and distribution systems, covering protection coordination, short‑circuit calculations, arc flash hazard analysis, power flow, grounding and harmonics. Design single‑line diagrams, schematics, wiring tables and layouts. Prepare technical documentation. Develop test plans, conduct tests, prepare test reports and present them to the team or management. Ensure Engineering‑to‑Order (ETO) project management, including T&C and MSA conformity with internal policy (with support from the legal department). Invoicing according to defined milestones. Plan, schedule and allocate resources. Design according to need coverage and cost based on the commercial proposal. Manage subcontractors. Deliver document packages. Ensure knowledge transfer to the services team for commissioning and maintenance contracts. Manage guarantees. Forecast procurement and systems allocations. Collaborate with Business Development, Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Production, Services and Marketing departments. Participate in continuous organizational improvement (e.g., Drive projects' Return on Experience, ROX). Essential Qualifications, Knowledge And Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (automation knowledge is an added advantage). Possession of or eligibility for a P.Eng. designation. 5+ years of experience in project management, design and deployment (e.g., energy storage systems, power generation, renewable energies, power distribution). Experience with standards and codes related to energy storage, renewable energies and low‑voltage systems. Strong technical expertise in power systems, system integration, automation and architecture. Skilled in performing electrical power system studies using analysis software. Knowledge of medium‑voltage installations is an additional advantage. Safety as a core value. Excellent computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office. Strong English verbal and written communication skills. Strong technical writing skills; able to prepare concise technical documentation/manuals. Working Conditions Role is located in an office environment with frequent visits to manufacturing facilities. Availability for occasional travel to international destinations (e.g., USA and Europe); must possess and maintain a valid passport.
