This role offers an opportunity to contribute to that mission while enabling global growth with a strong user experience. What you’ll do As a member of the Onboarding and Compliance Strategy organization, you will work on policy and program design to protect Stripe’s business, brand, and mission while enabling growth. You will develop onboarding and compliance standards and drive risk appetite decisions that balance risk with user experience. You will provide expert guidance to Policy, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure regulatory and partner requirements are met with minimal user friction. Responsibilities include: Drive onboarding and compliance standards and controls strategy for company-level strategic initiatives that balance risk mitigation with user experience Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and build effective programs and controls Assess Stripe’s current risk performance and develop long-term strategic plans for future growth Represent Stripe in external engagements with key partners and customers Enable user onboarding to safely grow at scale, optimizing for efficiency and user experience Challenge the status quo and provide multiple alternative solutions and criteria Continue learning about the payments space and scale knowledge to others Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses as initiatives evolve Who you are Minimum requirements and preferred qualifications for consideration. Minimum Requirements 9+ years of professional experience, preferably in financial or tech sectors, in risk management or revenue enablement 8+ years in a related role (risk, compliance and/or product enablement) Experience developing risk strategies and programmatic solutions with technical and operational teams Ability to distill complex risk and policy problems into clear guidance for internal stakeholders and Stripe users Exceptional collaboration and communication skills to influence across functions and regions Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Results- and action-oriented mindset with the ability to lead and motivate others Ability to own outcomes and drive toward ambitious goals Comfort operating in an ambiguous and fast-changing environment Preferred Qualifications Experience delivering risk standards and controls designs Ability to translate complex issues into actionable next steps Proficiency in one of the following areas: merchant acquiring rules, KYC/KYB, AML/OFAC compliance Hybrid work at Stripe This role is available in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office). In-office and remote work expectations Details regarding office presence and remote work arrangements are provided to help you understand expectations for collaboration and location flexibility. Pay and benefits The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is CA$164,300 - CA$246,500. This range may change based on location. Benefits may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions, retirement plans, health benefits, and wellness stipends. Specific benefits and compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.
