Overview Senior Software Development Manager, AI/ML Platform – Autodesk Autodesk is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Development Manager to lead our skilled team of engineers in the design, development, and execution of our advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions. Your role extends beyond technical leadership; you will be a pivotal figure in fostering collaboration with partners and driving platform adoption. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product management, data science, and infrastructure, you will define and execute the AI/ML platform roadmap. Your responsibilities encompass driving the technical strategy, execution, and delivery of scalable AI/ML platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in AI/ML technologies, and a proven track record of delivering complex Software Engineering projects. A successful candidate will deliver while motivating the team and instilling a culture of engineering excellence. Location: Toronto, Canada Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of engineers in the development and deployment of AI/ML solutions Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, data science, data and cloud infrastructure to define and execute the AI/ML platform roadmap Provide sound technical guidance and drive crucial technology decisions Actively participate in coding, review processes, and problem-solving alongside your team Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies Drive the design and architecture of scalable, reliable, and efficient AI/ML systems Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, code quality, and security standards Manage project timelines and resource allocation to deliver projects successfully Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team Actively participate in the hiring process to attract and onboard top-tier engineering talent, ensuring the team possesses the necessary skills and expertise to execute on the AI/ML platform vision Minimum Qualifications BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on AI/ML. (MS preferred) 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a management role Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java Experience building and deploying AI models for rapid AI application development, using AWS SageMaker, Bedrock or Azure Machine Learning Experience building and managing large-scale distributed systems and microservices architecture Experience building on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and statistical techniques used in machine learning Understanding of MLOps principles and practices for effectively managing and automating machine learning workflows, including model versioning, monitoring, and deployment Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members towards achieving project goals Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in building AI/ML platforms or products from inception to production deployment Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code Understanding of MLOps principles and practices for effectively managing and automating machine learning workflows, including model versioning, monitoring, and deployment Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of building and motivating high-performing engineering teams About Autodesk Welcome to Autodesk Amazing things are created every day with our software – from the greenest buildings and cleanest cars to the smartest factories and biggest hit movies.
