About The Opportunity LRO Staffing is partnering with a respected non‑profit organization in Ottawa to recruit a People and Culture Associate for a six‑month contract. This onsite role offers an excellent opportunity for a collaborative, detail‑oriented HR professional who is passionate about supporting equity, diversity, inclusion, and organizational growth. The successful candidate will work closely with the People and Culture team to support recruitment, onboarding, HR systems, benefits administration, and people‑focused projects that contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Duties Support the People and Culture team in coordinating recruitment campaigns, preparing employment documentation, and managing onboarding activities Maintain and enhance HR systems and databases, ensuring data accuracy and the ongoing automation of HR processes Assist with updating policies and supporting HR project coordination, including the implementation of automated systems for recruitment and onboarding Provide guidance to staff and managers regarding HR processes, benefits, and collective agreement matters Lead and participate in employee engagement initiatives and support centre‑wide learning and development programs Contribute to the development and maintenance of equitable and inclusive HR practices in line with the organization’s People Strategy Assist in the coordination and delivery of mandatory training programs (e.g., WHMIS, AODA, Crisis Intervention Training) Participate in the planning and evaluation of HR services, and support the ongoing improvement of HR processes and systems About You Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field 3–5 years of relevant experience in HR and benefits administration Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with high attention to detail Experience supporting HRIS systems (knowledge of Dayforce considered an asset) Strong understanding of HR legislation including the Employment Standards Act and Pay Equity Act Demonstrated experience supporting equity, diversity, inclusion, anti‑racism, and anti‑oppression initiatives Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Access, and other Windows‑based systems English (spoken and written) essential; French an asset Experience working within a non‑profit, healthcare, or community‑based organization is considered an asset Must provide a clear Police Record Check and proof of double COVID‑19 vaccination WHMIS and AODA certifications (or willingness to complete them) About the Job Location: Downtown Ottawa Work Arrangement: Onsite, with potential to work from home on occasion once fully onboarded Duration: 6‑month contract to start, with potential for permanence Start Date: ASAP Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, flexible within standard business hours) Hourly Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 How To Apply Please apply by clicking the “Apply Now” button below and follow the instructions to submit your résumé.
