We have an opening for an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our in-house design team.


We offer a supportive, flexible hybrid work environment and a competitive salary and benefits package. However, as we prefer seeing you in person for a substantial portion of each week, it would be ideal if you lived within a reasonable commute of our office in the Hamilton, Ontario area. 


Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a well-presented and creative individual with great leadership skills, who can communicate effectively with clients and loves all aspects of design. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently or coordinate and guide a project team. They will also be someone who enjoys being an integral part of the sales process, able to take a leading role in presentations to clients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide direction to and coordinate with design team
  • Coordinate a variety of projects through all phases of design, from workplace strategy, programming, concept development, design development, construction drawings, contract documentation
  • Prepare building-permit-ready drawings, specification information and coordinate with Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers
  • Manage contract administration including addendums, site instructions, change orders, and related tasks
  • Attend consultant and site meetings, prepare meeting minutes and site review documents
  • Attend sales meetings with Senior Business Development Team
  • Take responsibility for design project management, including but not limited to: maintaining schedules, project files, contracts, and communication using the company’s online programs
  • Other related design or project management responsibilities from time to time


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Leadership and management skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including graphic presentation
  • ARIDO would be beneficial
  • An interest or demonstrable knowledge in LEED or sustainability guidelines
  • An interest in or ability to obtain BCIN
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Ontario Building Code  
  • Completely proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Very familiar with Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with programs such as Photoshop, Power Point, Sketch-Up
  • Demonstrable understanding of basic space planning principles
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial interiors and tenant development
  • A sound knowledge of interior construction details is expected
  • Excellent organization and documentation experience required
  • Ability to take the lead or delegate as needed, and manage others
  • Must always meet deadlines agreed on with client, meet weekly KPIs, keep all promises made, adhere to current systems, provide top level service
  • Familiar and comfortable with Office365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, Excel
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
