Patient Safety & Risk Specialist Join North York General Hospital as a Patient Safety & Risk Specialist. You will champion a culture of safety, quality, and innovation, ensuring every patient, family, and team member experiences compassionate, personalized, and safe care. We are a leading community academic hospital, building on our academic foundation through enhanced education, research, and innovation. The successful candidate will have a healthcare or health sciences related undergraduate degree, clinical background with a minimum of 5 years of acute care experience, and excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities : Reviews and audits Safety Event Reports for trends and brings them forward to applicable stakeholders. Champions response to serious safety events and critical patient incidents. Supports the development of reports and presentations for system review recommendations. Executes an effective response to external sources of risk identification. Provides patient safety and risk consultation in the development or revision of policies, procedures, and guidelines. Qualifications : Healthcare or health sciences related undergraduate degree preferred. Clinical background with a minimum of 5 years of acute care experience preferred. Master’s degree an asset. Current registration with a recognized health profession college or regulatory body. Formal training or certification in Patient Safety and/or Quality Improvement an asset.
