Store Manager - Trail, BC OVERVIEW The Store Manager is committed to achieving sales and service goals through strong people and operational leadership. Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to, customer experience, people leadership, financial performance, inventory management, operational policy and standards, and growth in market share. The Store Manager achieves these objectives daily through visibility, involvement and interaction with customers and all employees. RESPONSIBILITIES Understand Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and communicate these goals to the management team and their employees. Maximize profitability; work within budgets and control expenses through close monitoring of labour, inventory management, overhead and other store expenses. Provide factual rationale for recommendations based on history, market/economic conditions and trend analysis for the development of the annual budget. In conjunction with the Marketing Manager, develop market positioning strategies in line with corporate objectives to grow profitable sales and increase market share. Promote shrink awareness and work to identify potential sources of inventory loss, implementing corrective measures as required. Plan and follow up to ensure stores are set relevant to seasonal timeframe and market conditions. Plan and organise work effectively and ensure completion of all tasks and responsibilities; including providing direction and follow up to key holders and employees. Build strong professional relationships with retail, professional and commercial customers. Build solid relationships with peers and business partners including Finance, Human Resources, IT, Asset Protection through the proper execution of standards and procedures. Build strong teams that represent their communities. Duties include directing store operations and delegating opening or closing the store. Proactively forecast staffing needs and schedule accordingly. Leading a team of approximately 25 employees. Actively recruit, select and develop staff in alignment with service standards, succession planning and culture fit. Oversee all training initiatives and ensure processes are in place to maintain training and development requirements. Promote a high level of product knowledge to build Team Member confidence. Clearly outline expectations to direct reports and motivate performance by actively recognizing positive behaviours as well as corrective feedback and discipline when necessary. Complete regular store walks to foster communication, to identify any gaps in service or security and to address any operational needs. Ensuring always in compliance with WorkSafe and Asset Protection Standards and protocols are clearly communicated and followed. QUALIFICATIONS 3-5 years minimum Store Management experience in Home Improvement/Building Centre background and/or relevant work experience. Proven experience driving sales. Good understanding of budgets and financial reporting. Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and follow through skills. Strong work ethic, sense of responsibility, integrity, attention to detail and confidentiality. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office. COMPENSATION Base salary starting at $100,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. Company vehicle. Comprehensive health and dental benefits. RRSP matching.
