Position Overview Our client is building a new Application Security (APSEC) team and is looking for an experienced DevSecOps Engineer with a strong Java development background. This role is critical to enhancing security practices across the software development lifecycle and ensuring robust application security in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Implement and maintain Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) to track dependencies and manage software component obsolescence. Develop automation for secret detection in GitHub repositories and integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines. Improve security metrics: coverage, scanner utilization, and exposure analysis for internal and external applications. Collaborate on prioritization of vulnerabilities using intelligent risk‑based approaches. Support database‑related tasks (PostgreSQL) and security hardening. Contribute to future security initiatives, including Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) integration. Must‑Have Skills Strong Java backend development experience combined with security expertise. Hands‑on experience with Nexus IQ (open‑source risk management, policy enforcement, automation). Proficiency in Prisma Cloud for cloud security and vulnerability management. Familiarity with GitHub Actions and automation for secure DevOps workflows. Solid understanding of PostgreSQL database security and performance. Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their security models. Nice‑to‑Have Experience with DAST tools (future integration planned). Exposure to container orchestration (Kubernetes) and service mesh security. Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO 27001).
