RVT, ER/ICU, Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital Location: Scarborough, ON Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital is a state-of-the-art veterinary emergency and referral hospital that delivers expert care and treatment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are currently looking to expand our ER team and are looking for Registered Veterinary Technicians who want to stretch their RVT skills and be a part of an amazing collaborative team. Responsibilities Placement and maintenance of various IV catheters, urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, and nasal oxygen cannulas; care and maintenance of patients with NG & E-tubes, closed suction drains, chest tubes, urinary catheters and wound diffusion catheters. Set up, maintenance and adjustment of IV fluid plans and pain CRIs, along with administration of multiple medications. Care for in-hospital patients including blocked cats, gastroenteritis, foreign bodies, fractures, lacerations, GDV, parvo and various autoimmune diseases. Stabilize and assist with anesthesia with our team of specialists for various surgical and wound procedures and manage post-operative care. Schedule and compensation Schedule: Our ER Technicians work a rotation of 4 on, 5 off with two 12-hour day shifts followed by two 12-hour night shifts. This includes weekends and holidays.
