Overview Join to apply for the Health & Safety Manager role at FlatironDragados . Are you an experienced health and safety leader passionate about creating a safe and healthy workplace? As the Health & Safety Manager, you will oversee occupational health and safety programs, analyze trends and ensure compliance with regulations to safeguard a mega project or all projects in a division. Your role involves providing technical expertise, conducting safety orientations and reviewing safety procedures. Collaborate with industry experts and committed teams to promote a safe working environment. Responsibilities Assist in the implementation of the health & safety programs on the project, ensuring safety procedures are followed by the operations team and subcontractors Collaborate with the health & safety program manager on ways to improve the health & safety program Participate in senior management, stakeholders, and client executive meetings when available Manage the health and safety resources assigned to the project Lead investigations for all major incidents on the project with the support from the Health & Safety Program Manager Coordinate with section managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure corrective measures are taken promptly Ensure competencies and on-the-spot task specific safety training are completed for workers on site Liaise with regulatory bodies that engage in worksite visits Work with project managers and supervision to address site-specific challenges and improve safety practices Ensure task specific hazard assessments are completed, communicated, and followed, including confined space hazard assessments and location-specific fall protection plans Qualifications CRSP, CHSO or other professional HS&E designation or in the process of obtaining one Minimum of 5 years of relevant health, safety and environment experience in a leadership role Minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure, construction or related industry, with relevant health and safety experience Thorough knowledge of common commercial construction practices, techniques and equipment Knowledgeable of local government health & safety acts, policies, regulations, codes and practices as they apply to construction Proficient with the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Able to influence work planning and execution by field/operations teams to achieve HS&E objectives Excellent verbal, communication, project management and analytical skills Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team Class 5 driver’s license and clear driving record Why work for us Some of the benefits you may be eligible for as an employee are: Comprehensive compensation package and paid time off program Industry leading 401(k)/RRSP Medical/Extended Health Care, Dental, Vision and provincial medical Wellness benefits & Employee Assistance Program Tuition Reimbursement Program We are an EEO/AA/ADA/Veterans employer.
