How Schlegel Villages Supports Our Team Members Competitive salary and benefits Significant opportunities for growth and development: Our leaders come from within Ongoing team‑member appreciation incentives and generous rewards and recognition Extended health benefits and retirement savings Individualized assistance for team‑member education and development Loans and scholarships to help our team members realize their greatest potential A unique family culture: every person in every village is a branch of our family tree To be successful as our new IPAC - Assistant Director of Nursing Care ADNC RN, you will: Hold a current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario Hold current Heart SAVE Level of CPR Have current certification with either a Long‑term Care – Certificate in Infection Prevention (LTC‑CIP) or Certificate in Infection Control (CIC) through the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) or be willing to obtain it in 12 months Act as a specialist leader pertaining to all aspects of infection prevention and control, including but not limited to outbreak management, auditing, infection surveillance and continuous quality improvement Support the delivery of IPAC education to all team members, caregivers, volunteers, students, visitors and residents Understand the IPAC protocol and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the regulations specific to infection control Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families and team members Understand the physical, mental and emotional demands of the Assistant Director of Nursing Care role Have three (3) years of experience leading and directing departments in a healthcare setting Experience working with people living with dementia and understand how to support individuals expressing personal expressions Work with the interdisciplinary team to ensure implementation of the IPAC program across all program areas It would be an asset if our new IPAC - Assistant Director of Nursing Care ADNC RN has Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations applicable to the long‑term care sector, including the Long‑Term Care Homes Act, 2007 and Health & Safety Experience in geriatric nursing Education and experience in IPAC practices including infectious disease, cleaning, disinfecting, data collection, trend analysis, outbreak management, reporting protocol, asepsis, microbiology, epidemiology, program management and adult education or willingness to complete an IPAC Canada endorsed or sponsored course At Schlegel Villages we are redefining elder care through innovation, village design and culture change, but we know the key to our village success and our residents’ satisfaction is YOU and our teams.
