Software Developer - Back End – Senior(z/OS V2.2 or higher, PL/I V4.5 ) Contract Arthur Grand Technologies ( is a minority‑owned staff augmentation and technology consulting company that has doubled revenue year over year for the past five years. Responsibilities Write and maintain mainframe PL/I transactions that process XML input, produce XML output, and consume non‑mainframe web services. Use z/OS V2.2 or higher, and interact with IMS DB V12 or higher (HALDB and DEDB) through the PLITDLI API. Employ DB2 for z/OS V11 or higher to access and modify data. Make effective use of file and database management tools such as File Aid V10.1 or IBM File Manager V13.1. Leverage mainframe debugging and diagnostic tools, including IBM Debug Tool V13.1 and Failure Diagnostic tools such as Abend Aid V12.4 or IBM Fault Analyzer V13.1. Utilize sort utilities such as DFSORT to handle large data sets. Control source code with Endevor and maintain checkpoint‑restartable IMS BMPs. Script SFTP operations within a mainframe environment. Qualifications 5+ years of mainframe PL/I development experience, with recent use of PL/I V4.5 or higher within the last five years. Strong background in z/OS V2.2 or higher and IBM mainframe toolset. Experience with IBM sort utilities, debugging, and failure diagnostics. Solid understanding of IMS DB technologies (HALDB, DEDB) and DB2 for z/OS. Knowledge of screen handling on mainframe (MFS) and Windows workstation (SCREENIO). Proficiency with source control systems such as Endevor, Harvest Source Control, and Visual Studio 2008 or higher. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
