Job Title: Intermediate .Net Developer Location: Canada, Remote (Onsite Edmonton, 3-4 times a month) Seniority on the skill/s required on this requirement: Intermediate Estimated Duration: 6 months with possible extension for up to another 12 months Work authorization: any (candidate must be authorized to work in CA) Job Summary The .Net Application Developer is required to develop the integration application (gateway) connecting the Video Visitation Service application (Vis Manager) with the Offender Records and Correctional Administration (ORCA)Management. Responsibilities Liaises with business units and program areas to ensure solutions meet current and strategic ministry needs and requirements. Write performing quality code to fulfill design, and pass code review with minimal number of defects. Apply configuration on development environments when required. Participate in implementing full product into production, and supports providing application versions and details for implementation plan. Highlight the technical impacts of the functional design on existing applications based on a detailed analysis. Deliver technical design and database structure for medium to high application complexity. Maintain technical documentation. Identify critical features of system, and focus testing effort on them. Ensure that the unit test covers the right proportion of the application. Setup data for testing. Grasp ability to quickly understand application functionalities and processes. Handle and fix production defects efficiently. Provide tracking and reporting of time and status on all work as required. Contribute to the creation of the Application Lifecycle Planning. Identify and coordinate release schedules. Identify service requests and priorities with customer. Ensure planned releases remain on schedule and on track. Other scope of services include: Applications Development, Applications design, Applications implementation, Applications documentation, Corrective and preventative applications maintenance, Database design, Applications enhancements, Analyze business and user requirements. Requirements The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following: University graduation in computer science or a related discipline and 4-year relevant experience; OR 2-year diploma in computer science or a related discipline and 6-year relevant experience; OR 1-year certificate in computer science or a related discipline and 7-year relevant experience; OR currently active professional certification or accreditation and 8-year relevant experience. Proposed resource has agreed to a Criminal Records Check and Enhanced Security Clearance including a credit check prior to commencement. Experience developing any of the following: multi-user, n-tier, Object Oriented, Web Services, JSON REST API applications using C#, .NET, ASP.net or Visual Studio. Experience and technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server. Experience in application maintenance and development that include: writing, modifying, integrating, testing, and documenting software code. Experience in designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting applications in a controlled production environment. Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps Server. Experience with various software development methodologies (i.e. agile, waterfall, scrum, Kanban, etc.). Experience working in a Government development environment or in any complex environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government sector. Experience and technical knowledge using ASP.NET MVC (Model View Controller). Experience developing and maintaining applications that use Oracle Database 19c. Experience developing and maintaining web services, JSON REST API and Message queuing services using .NET C# services. Experience using a version-controlling tool (Tortoise GIT, Tortoise SVN and Version Manager and MS Azure DevOps).
