Site Operations Department The Site Operations Department is responsible for the health of all mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance and performance of data modules. The team operates 24x7 onsite with Critical Facility Engineers (CFEs) on each shift. They use a CMMS to plan and track work, performing preventative and corrective maintenance. The department emphasizes customer-facing service and efficient, cost-effective operations. Position Overview This role is on-site in Montréal (Pointe-Claire), QC. The Director, Site Operations owns the overall operations for one or more data center campuses and directly manages a team of CFTs and/or manager-level positions. You will interface with Operations Engineering, Design Engineering & Construction and other resources to manage campus operations, workflow/work order management, training plans, event management, customer communications, hiring and performance management. The ideal candidate has an excellent understanding of typical electrical and mechanical building systems to direct work for maintaining the environment. Essential Job Functions Manage the operations and engineering functions at the property to safely and effectively operate machinery and building systems Lead a team of Critical Facilities Technicians (CFTs) and/or Managers across all shifts in a 7x24 operation Ensure availability and capacity targets for data centers and technical infrastructure are achieved Foster a team-oriented environment with positive feedback Hold employees accountable for preventive and corrective maintenance Ensure customers are satisfied and issues are resolved quickly and efficiently Understand building systems and respond to operational and emergency situations Ensure adequate training of all Critical Facilities Technicians on electrical/mechanical equipment and system maintenance Duties Direct and maintain the site-specific preventive maintenance and work order program Prepare cost estimates for parts, equipment and supplies for installation and repairs Schedule, coordinate and oversee maintenance vendors during maintenance and break/fix events Ensure personnel safety while protecting critical facility equipment Develop required MOPs/SOPs with peers and subordinates Ensure maintenance activities comply with MOPs and Vantage work rules Review MOPs/SOPs for current techniques, safety guidelines and regulatory compliance Evaluate system performance and propose cost-effective improvements Collect and generate vendor field service reports describing maintenance and repairs Collaborate with leadership to set and manage team performance goals Evaluate and manage performance reviews, provide feedback and coaching Protect and improve asset value and ensure equipment lifespan Prepare operational and capital portions of the Site Operations budget Plan, execute and close major projects following best practices Manage contracted service work, including scope development, bidding and contract administration Maintain a world-class customer service reputation for current and future customers Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience 10+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering, construction and maintenance supervision (strongly preferred) 5+ years of direct managerial experience (strongly preferred) Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service Strong written and oral communication skills Proficiency in English and French is essential Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and building automation systems Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role, which involves interactions with counterparts in the same department and stakeholders in the United States.
