Senior Associate, Engineering at ML6 Search + Talent Advisory The Opportunity: This role sits within an organization that designs and builds custom mobile heavy equipment across mining, construction, waste, transportation, and energy sectors. As they continue to expand their capabilities, they are looking for a seasoned electrical engineering professional with strong high-voltage and mobile equipment expertise. What You’ll Be Doing: Leading and contributing to multiple equipment applications within project scope, timelines, and quality expectations. Working with Project Team Leaders to meet build schedules, budgets, and material requirements. Preparing layouts, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material. Using SolidWorks Electrical to develop wiring schematics, harness drawings, and panel assemblies. Ensuring compliance with electrical regulations and standards across different regions. Selecting and designing components with a focus on functionality, cost, reliability, and manufacturability. Supporting supplier interactions and the purchasing process. Collaborating with other engineering disciplines and supporting equipment builds on the shop floor. Performing testing on AC motor control and HVDC systems. Working closely with controls/software engineers on system integration. Utilizing multimeters, oscilloscopes, CAN tools, and similar equipment for design, assembly, and validation. What You’ll Need To Be Successful: Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 7–10+ years of experience in a similar role (P.Eng is an asset). High‑voltage DC experience — required. Experience with batteries / EV integration — strong asset. Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and Canadian Electrical Code. Understanding of wiring, motor control, PLC programming, and machinery communication systems. Familiarity with process controls and electrical distribution system design. Excellent problem‑solving, critical thinking, and time‑management skills. Ability to take initiative, work independently, and collaborate within a team environment.
