Senior Technical Delivery Lead

The Global Wealth Management Technology group at Scotiabank designs and develops applications for wealth and brokerage customers. We are looking for a Senior Technical Delivery Lead to deliver solutions for the Bank’s Records & Information Management Policy. As a Delivery Lead, you will leverage your strong technical background to guide software engineers, champion Agile practices, drive continuous improvement, and coach teams to deliver value for the Bank and its customers. Is this role right for you? In this role you will: Lead through influence a team of software engineers, providing technical direction and guidance for projects related to managing structured and unstructured data retention/destruction requirements. Use your technical background in the software development life cycle to guide the team, solve challenges, and make informed decisions. Oversee technical project plans, timelines, and budgets; estimate and report regularly on project status. Collaborate with architects and business analysts and bring technical expertise to discussions. Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, processes, and tools to enhance development capabilities. Identify roadmap/feature dependencies and impediments; track, surface, and remove them to enable the team. Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution; build a trusting, safe environment. Identify and act on coaching opportunities at individual and team level. Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospective) and longer‑term planning (Release Planning, Release Train Planning). Proactively identify and mitigate risks using Agile best practices and project deliverables. Provide regular, standardized reporting on team performance: velocity, stories completed, project status. Run a Proof‑of‑Concept for vendors that provide solutions to the data purging requirements, up to and including an RFP. Develop and document technical processes, procedures, and playbooks. Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? 7‑10+ years of technical project management experience and/or leading large cross‑functional/cross‑regional teams on major organizational projects involving software development releases. Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. Good knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand team needs. Strong understanding of the Wealth Management industry is an asset. Understanding of any data retention/destruction regulations is desired but not required. Previous experience as a software developer or technical lead is desirable. Knowledge of Lean principles: eliminating waste, focusing on value delivery, small batch production, frequent delivery of working software, and adapting to change. Understands backlog tracking, Scrum and Kanban metrics, task definition, story splitting. Experience with Agile techniques – automated testing, user stories, continuous integration, continuous delivery, etc. Modernization mindset and drive toward strategic long‑term goals. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Experience with JIRA/Confluence. What's in it for you?
