This employment opportunity is open to all applicants. The Federal Engagement Advisor is responsible for developing and implementing strategies related to federal funding and infrastructure. The Advisor will work closely with Government of Nunavut departments and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for engagement and develop plans to ensure the Government’s priorities are heard by decision‑makers in the federal government. Transportation and Infrastructure Nunavut works in partnership with community governments to assist in building their capacity so that they can meet the needs of residents. TIN provides programs and funding that support infrastructure development that supports self‑governing safe communities. The Federal Engagement Advisor plays an active role in monitoring, advising, and participating with senior management in discussions regarding federal government contributions and associated strategic planning of funds to ensure advancement of government‑wide priorities. The incumbent coordinates several interdepartmental / interagency subcommittees and interacts with other governmental agencies, community organizations and industry representatives. Main Responsibilities Of The Federal Engagement Advisor Facilitate the strategic planning process by coordinating with key stakeholders and guiding the development of strategic goals and objectives. Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for capital projects. Identify strategic risks and potential challenges that may hinder the achievement of infrastructure program goals. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather input, perspectives, and feedback on infrastructure funding initiatives. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies in all capital planning and project activities. Lead the development of the organization’s federally funded infrastructure strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the overall Government mandate. The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are a degree from a recognized institution in Business Administration, Public Administration or related fields combined with three (3) years of directly related experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex infrastructure concepts and recommendations to diverse audiences, including senior executives, government officials, and community stakeholders, are also required. The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross‑cultural environment are also considered assets. Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position.
