Functional Analyst

Strategio is growing its Enterprise Financial Services Practice and supporting a major transformation initiative for one of Canada’s largest Canadian investment management firm, overseeing hundreds of billions in AUM. We’re hiring Functional Analysts to help streamline, support, and improve investment operations by optimizing workflows and ensuring data consistency across complex financial systems. SimCorp Dimension is the client’s centralized financial data warehouse, and you’ll play a key role in driving stability, accuracy, and integration across upstream and downstream systems. You’ll be embedded with the client’s investment and technology teams to investigate incidents, write specifications, analyze data flows, and improve how information moves across trade, pricing, and accounting workflows. About You You're a systems thinker with a passion for data accuracy, clean workflows, and stakeholder alignment. You’ve worked in investment or asset management environments before, supporting tools that sit at the intersection of business and technology. You collaborate confidently with business users and IT teams, translating complex requirements into actionable solutions. You’re calm under pressure, curious about upstream-downstream dependencies, and proactive in eliminating operational inefficiencies before they elevate. As a Strategio Functional Analyst, you will Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications Lead test planning and execution across SIT, UAT, and regression cycles Analyze the impact of system changes and propose configuration updates Troubleshoot and document incidents across investment and accounting systems Support deployment and post-implementation activities Collaborate with data, finance, and operations teams to ensure consistency and completeness Recommend automation, documentation, or process improvements Core Skills Experience as a Functional Analyst or Business Systems Analyst in financial services, investment operations, or asset management Solid understanding of trade lifecycles and financial products (e.g., swaps, derivatives, fixed income, NAV) Competence in SQL for data analysis and issue resolution Familiarity with investment platforms like SimCorp Dimension, Bloomberg AIM, Charles River Development, SS&C Geneva, Eagle, Aladdin or InvestOne Experience writing specs, documenting tests, and leading UAT with stakeholders Nice-to-Haves Understanding of data integration, data warehouses, and batch scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M) Certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CBAP are a plus Experience working in Agile or ITIL-aligned environments Location Hybrid, must be based in Montreal, QC.
