Supervisor Infrastructure & Security Department: Infrastructure & Security Program: Information Technology Status: Regular Full Time Days and On-Call Schedule: 8 Hour Shifts (Subject to Change) Location: Lakeridge Health Oshawa Wage Schedule: $50.980 - $69.140 per hour Vacancy: Position Description The Supervisor, Infrastructure and Security supports the Manager, Infrastructure, Applications and Information Security by overseeing daily infrastructure and security operations, ensuring systems remain reliable, resilient, and compliant with hospital standards. This role provides supervisory oversight of the infrastructure and security team, guiding staff in the delivery of secure, high-performing IT services. In addition to managing staff and providing technical leadership, the Supervisor assists in the execution and planning of Lakeridge Health's digital strategy, ISO 27001/27701 initiatives, and digital expansion projects. By acting as a bridge between technical teams, vendors, and leadership, the Supervisor ensures operational excellence, fosters team development, and drives alignment with hospital priorities that enable safe, efficient, and innovative patient care. Duties And Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day infrastructure operations, including servers, storage, virtualization, network, backups, and security tools. Act as senior escalation points for complex incidents, ensuring timely root cause resolution and communication. Ensure patching, monitoring, and system availability are maintained to support clinical and administrative functions. Support implementation of disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup strategies to minimize downtime. Provide direct supervision to infrastructure and security staff, including scheduling, workload allocation, and performance monitoring. Ensure daily operations of team and project deliverables are completed effectively and on time. Coach and mentor staff to build technical skills, encourage professional growth, and foster a collaborative and accountable team culture. Conduct regular check-ins and feedback sessions, supporting staff development plans and identifying training opportunities. Oversee the team's participation in infrastructure, security, and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with hospital policies, ISO 27001/27701 initiatives, and organizational priorities. Assist the Manager in implementing IT strategy and supporting digital expansion initiatives aligned with hospital priorities. Lead the technical execution of infrastructure and security projects, upgrades, and system enhancements. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption to strengthen resilience, automation, and cybersecurity posture. Ensure project rollouts align with policies and hospital standards. Partner with clinical, administrative, and IT stakeholders to ensure infrastructure and security services meet patient care and organizational needs. Act as technical liaison with vendors and service providers to ensure proper support and escalation as needed. Provide feedback and operational insights to the Manager to support strategic decision-making. Engage with end users and teams to assess service effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities. Maintain accurate documentation of systems, processes, change logs, and configurations. Ensure operational runbooks and knowledge base articles are up to date and accessible. Support audits, accreditation, and ISO surveillance activities by providing required evidence. Contribute to standard operating procedures to strengthen consistency and compliance. Other duties as required. Qualifications Diploma (3-year) in computer science or related discipline is required. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline is preferred. 7-10 years of related work experience is required (over 10 years is preferred). Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent; preferred. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent; preferred. Microsoft Certified: Azure or equivalent; preferred. VMware Certified Professional or equivalent; preferred.VMware Certified Professional or equivalent; preferred. CompTIA Security+ or equivalent; preferred. ITIL4 or equivalent; preferred.
