Reporting to the Vice President of IT, the IT Director is responsible for developing and executing strategic IT initiatives that support both wholesale and manufacturing operations. This role requires deep expertise in IBM i (AS/400) environments, ERP, WMS, and MRP systems, along with strong leadership and cross‑functional collaboration skills. Responsibilities Strategic IT Leadership Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business goals. Ensure seamless integration of IBM i systems with: ERP & Application Support: order management, inventory control, financial reporting, and data optimization. WMS & Application Support: warehouse and supply chain operations. MRP Systems: material tracking, production planning, and scheduling. Oversee administration, performance tuning, upgrades, and high‑availability configurations of IBM i (AS/400) systems. Ensure minimal downtime in a 24/7 wholesale and manufacturing environment. Infrastructure & Network Oversight Maintain robust network infrastructure and hardware. Manage cloud integrations to support real‑time data exchange across factory floors, warehouses, and corporate offices. Security & Compliance Implement IT security policies, including user access controls, data encryption, and compliance with industry standards. Prepare and manage IT budgets. Negotiate vendor contracts for hardware, software, and services, ensuring cost‑effective IBM i licensing across wholesale and manufacturing operations. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Design and test disaster recovery plans for IBM i systems. Ensure rapid recovery from disruptions to maintain operational continuity. Innovation & Process Improvement Identify and implement emerging technologies (e.g., IoT for factory automation, AI for demand forecasting). Drive operational efficiency across wholesale and manufacturing environments. Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, developers, and support staff. Foster a collaborative environment that supports business workflows and end‑user needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 7+ years of IT management experience, including 5+ years of hands‑on project management and coding in IBM i environments. Proven track record in wholesale and manufacturing IT. Strong cross‑functional problem‑solving abilities. Highly effective communicator with a talent for building trust and collaboration.
