This full‑time position will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto as either a Clinician Teacher or Clinician in Quality & Innovation at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The role is expected to be 60–70% clinical and 30–40% academic, with an anticipated start date of July 1 2026 or a mutually agreeable date thereafter. Responsibilities The successful applicant will join the Division of Rheumatology, which provides inpatient consultation services and ambulatory care to patients with rheumatic diseases. Responsibilities include excellent clinical care of in‑patients and out‑patients, liaison with primary care, supervision of trainees in the clinical setting, formal teaching, and scholarly achievements. Qualifications The successful candidate must hold an MD degree and either be certified or eligible for certification in Rheumatology/Internal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and be licensed or eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Clinical expertise in complex rheumatic conditions, including systemic autoimmune diseases with renal, neurologic, oncologic, and pregnancy considerations, is required. Experience in point‑of‑care ultrasound and innovative models of care is an asset. For the Clinician Teacher track: advanced training and/or a track record of teaching accomplishments, including formal training in teaching methodology, teaching awards, and leadership as a clinical educator. For the Clinician in Quality & Innovation track: advanced training in quality or innovation with evidence of scholarship, and readiness to engage in quality improvement, patient safety, knowledge translation, or other healthcare innovation initiatives. Remuneration Estimated remuneration in the range of $150,000–$300,000 (fee‑for‑service estimate), commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association for clinical billing and benefits, and may participate in the department’s group medical, dental and life insurance plans.
