The ideal candidate will support the development and creation of innovative technical products from conception to production. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional team members, ensuring quality, and staying updated with industry trends to contribute to the success of our product lines.


For this role, you will work within the small and mighty Design and Development team in our Kitsilano office


The responsibilities for this role include the following:


  • Preparing technical specifications, technical drawings, and documentation required for the production process.
  • Collaborating with design, manufacturing, and marketing teams to understand product requirements, including performance, materials, and aesthetics.
  • Coordinating with manufacturers/suppliers to ensure smooth production processes, quality control, and timely delivery of products.
  • Leading fit sessions to ensure products meet quality, performance, and comfort expectations.
  • Generating and communicating creative and technical specifications for products and direct-to-garment prints.
  • Assisting in creating and maintaining product development timelines, ensuring adherence to deadlines and milestones. 
  • Collaborating in problem-solving and troubleshooting during the development and production phases.
  • Assisting in the research and development of new sportswear products, from initial concept to production, ensuring alignment with design direction, brand vision and market trends.
  • Supporting in sourcing materials, trims, and suppliers that meet quality standards while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Conducting product testing, and analyzing feedback.
  • Staying updated with industry trends, market research, and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for product enhancement and innovation.
  • Supporting cross-functional teams with the technical information needed for e-commerce and marketing. 


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Apparel, Product Development, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of previous experience in product development, preferably within the sportswear or apparel industry.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, materials, manufacturing processes, and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional team members.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation and staying updated with industry trends.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving project needs.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in product development is a plus.
  • A love of cycling is an asset
