Portfolio Construction Manager

Overview Portfolio Construction Manager at Fidelity Canada. You will be working on a flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement. Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings. What We Do The Portfolio Construction Manager will be responsible for creating model portfolios for Fidelity’s prospects and clients in partnership with Fidelity’s Portfolio Strategists. The role will support all of Fidelity’s clients by providing portfolio construction expertise regarding Fidelity’s product offerings, third party products, industry trends, and competitor intelligence. The Portfolio Construction Manager will be involved in all aspects of development and ongoing support of Fidelity Portfolio Solutions, which collaborates with advisors to build customized model portfolios. How You’ll Make An Impact Contribute to asset allocation discussions and investment model portfolio strategy, oversight and execution Utilize investment tools and market research to make actionable recommendations, including a detailed analysis of risk, return and diversification aspects of model portfolios Partner with Portfolio Strategists, their clients, and prospects to contribute to the building of investment models Conduct third party manager research to develop a strong bench of investment options, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative analysis Monitor products used within model portfolios for notable changes and communicate impacts Develop relationships with Fidelity’s Portfolio Strategists and other internal stakeholders Establish Fidelity Canada as an industry leader in portfolio construction Build, maintain, and communicate with expert level of knowledge on portfolio construction concepts Identify opportunities to develop and execute portfolio construction strategies that will maximize market penetration and increase customer loyalty Partner with Portfolio Strategists to educate and promote Fidelity’s portfolio construction philosophy, process, performance, and competitive strengths Assist in providing thought leadership and insights regarding the marketplace Support Sales, Marketing & Corporate Affairs with timely & relevant information Provide expert insights into the development of external investment communication material ensuring portfolio construction information is correct, compelling, and understood relative competitor service offerings Assist in the development and analysis of thought leadership pieces Support portfolio construction education for those with varying degrees of investment knowledge Provide insight and counsel for investment solution improvement and product development initiatives Provide support for Portfolio Strategists on ad hoc portfolio construction queries What We’re Looking For Completion of a University degree or equivalent work experience 7+ years of investment market expertise Completion of CFA/MBA/CAIA is an asset Canadian Asset management or wealth management industry knowledge 3+ years of building and maintaining model portfolios, or maintained a recommended list of 3rd party investment managers, and an expert level of knowledge on portfolio construction concepts What You Will Bring Exceptional analytical ability Strong knowledge of investment products and services Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to successfully articulate detailed mechanics of portfolio construction, investment philosophy, and process Proven experience performing complex data analysis Benefits 100% remote and hybrid work arrangements Competitive total compensation package Opportunity to participate in Fidelity profit-sharing program Company contributes into your RRSP, without a matching requirement from you Health benefits and coverage, with no requirement for employee paid premiums, including up to $5000 for therapy Health Care Spending Account TELUS Health Virtual Care app Health and Fitness Reimbursement Up to $650 for home office equipment Generous time off policy 2 paid days annually to volunteer Access to over 11,000 training and development courses Tuition reimbursement Monetary awards for completing a required designation Annual dues reimbursement for professional designations Pregnancy/Parental/Adoption Leave - Fidelity will top-up to 100% of your salary for a period of 25 weeks Equal Opportunity Fidelity Canada is an equal opportunity employer.
