Overview The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is a dynamic board committed to the delivery of quality educational programs and services. Responsibilities Act as a liaison between the Board (Human Resources Services, Special Education Services and Family of Schools Supervisory Officers), Principals and the Educational Resource Worker staff. Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training and evaluation of Educational Resource Worker staff and/or assigned client group. Responsible for all Educational Resource Worker staff surplus, transfer and placement decisions. Report and respond to incident reports with the health and safety department and employee relations department as necessary. Support Special Education Services in the allocation process of Educational Resource Workers. Participate in employee training and development activities as required. Issue, monitor and manage system needs related to PPE in collaboration with Special Education Services and Health and Safety teams. Assist in maintaining and updating employee records for Board-approved crisis intervention programs and other required training. Monitor the supply pool to ensure appropriate coverage aligned with absence data to meet system needs. Propose recruitment and retention strategies for assigned client groups to improve outcomes and provide long-range planning. Provide general advice on the application of the assigned collective agreement(s). May perform low-level conflict resolution duties under general administrative procedures for staff-to-staff conflict. Serve as the primary contact for Principals on issues related to Special Education Support Staffing or assigned client group. Coordinate the deployment of itinerant ERWs in consultation with the Family of Schools Supervisory Officer, Special Education Services and applicable collective agreement provisions. Participate in system-level initiatives as requested. Qualifications Post-secondary education in human resources management or a field related to special education (degree or diploma). CHRP/CHRL designation or equivalent as determined by the Superintendent, Human Resources and Employee Relations. Minimum three years of related experience in human resources services in a unionized environment. Experience working with individuals with special needs is an asset. Full understanding of recruitment cycles. Working knowledge of applicable legislation, including the Ontario Human Rights Act, Employment Standards Act, and Ministry of Education regulations. School Board experience is preferred, including on-the-job training. Other Qualifications/Additional Experience Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team Skilled in conflict resolution Proficient computer skills; excellent verbal skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) HR policies and procedures expertise Strong knowledge of hiring practices Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent staffing needs Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations Sound judgment and problem-solving skills Familiarity with HRIS systems and staffing tools Applicant Information To be considered for this position, please click Apply.
