About the Organization Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex, approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow‑vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is transported to the surface via a 1,080‑metre deep shaft capable of 48,000 tonnes per day. The Timmins West mine, located 18 kilometers west of Timmins, is one of the world’s most prolific gold camps. It is comprised of the Timmins, Thunder Creek and 144 Gap deposits, all interconnected by underground drifts. About Timmins, Ontario Timmins is a vibrant community of 45,000 residents and a central hub for Northeastern Ontario. About the Opportunity We are hiring a Principal Engineer, Projects to join our Timmins Operations in Timmins, ON on a full‑time basis. The schedule is Monday‑Friday, 8 hours per day or 4 on/3 off, 10 hours per day. This is not a camp‑based position. In this role you will advance projects within the company’s pipeline to the execution stage and report progress to senior management and corporate personnel. Excellent communication skills are essential. Responsibilities Design and optimize mine plans. Produce a long‑term plan for the company’s highest‑priority assets. Ensure projects are ready for execution to meet Life‑of‑Mine requirements. Coordinate with multiple subject‑matter experts and external consultants. Perform economic analyses and maximize value. Provide regular project tracking updates. Set milestones and achieve them in a timely manner. Liaise with the Environmental department to meet permitting timelines. Qualifications Degree in Mining Engineering. 10+ years of mining engineering and project management experience. Proven project tracking and progress demonstration. Knowledge of mine design software such as Deswik, Datamine. Experience with project management software such as Deswik, Primavera, Microsoft Projects. Experience in long‑term mine planning and multiple asset integration. Experience in project value optimization, including NPV and IRR. Experience preparing NI 43‑101, Preliminary Economic Assessment, Pre‑Feasibility Study (PFS) and Feasibility Study (FS) documents. Understanding of project capital requirements, detailing and costs. Knowledge of mining equipment, material handling technology and innovation. Experience liaising with operations, engineering and geology departments of producing mines. Advanced understanding of underground mining methods and, ideally, open‑pit design. Knowledge of mineral processing methods and associated infrastructure. Strong oral and written communication skills at all organizational levels. Professional Engineer designation is desirable. Project Management Professional designation is an asset.
