As a Senior Architect, you'll architect and implement scalable data mesh solutions and advanced ETL pipelines tailored to complex 5G core network environments. Partnering with telecom subject matter experts, architects, and DevOps teams, you’ll enable unified analytics, real-time network insights, and automation for new products, operational KPIs, and business transformation. Your work will drive the modernization of TELUS’s data platforms, supporting machine learning, customer experience innovation, and best-in-class network reliability—positioning TELUS as an industry leader in data architecture and digital services. What you’ll do Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust telecom ETL pipelines and cloud-native data mesh architecture using GCP and modern data stack tools. Ingest, transform, and unify diverse data sources, including CDRs, XML network logs, OSS/BSS streams, and telemetry from 5G core network functions. Apply advanced programming expertise in Python, mySQL, and SQL to develop scalable, maintainable data solutions supporting rapid analytics and ML workflows. Collaborate cross-functionally to identify core network data opportunities, define technical requirements, and build reliable, real-time data products for business, engineering, and operational teams. Champion data governance, quality, and security best practices throughout pipeline development and production deployments. Leverage automation and CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient development cycles and data solution reliability. Engage with business stakeholders to transform raw network data into high-value analytics, dashboards, and actionable insights. What you bring 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software development, with a strong focus on telecom networks or large-scale cloud architectures. Proven expertise in telecom ETL processes (KPIs, network logs, data mapping, transformation) and deep knowledge of Python, mySQL, and modern data scripting. Hands-on experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including data services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and cloud-native pipeline orchestration. Experience implementing and scaling data mesh/data fabric architectures in cloud environments. Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering tangible business impact. Proficiency in ingesting, transforming, and managing data from XML, CSV, API, and unstructured network sources. Advanced SQL and data modeling skills for analytics, reporting, and machine learning enablement. Excellent communication and documentation skills—able to articulate complex data concepts between engineering and business stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with a track record of delivering reliable, scalable data solutions. Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, telecom, or equivalent Great-to-haves Understanding of telecommunications data models, OSS/BSS systems, and TM Forum standards. Certification in GCP Data Engineering or similar cloud disciplines. Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and advanced data governance. Experience with open-source ETL or orchestration tools such as Airflow, dbt, or similar Location: Any major Canadian city #LI-Hybrid Salary Range: $103,000-$155,000 Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15% Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
