Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Director of Communication and Marketing provides strategic and operational leadership for all communication and marketing initiatives across internal and external audiences. The role ensures a consistent organizational voice, reinforces SAC’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities, and elevates SAC’s presence as a visible and integrated healthcare leader. The Director is responsible for brand management, digital strategy, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement, while fostering innovation and excellence in communication and marketing practices. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive communication and marketing strategy aligned with SAC’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives Establish clear objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics to measure impact and effectiveness Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging communication technologies to integrate best practices and innovative approaches Operational Leadership Oversee day-to-day communication and marketing operations to ensure timely execution and alignment with strategic priorities Coordinate resources, workflows, and cross-departmental collaboration to support efficient delivery of initiatives Facilitate meetings at both departmental and organizational levels Brand Management Develop and steward SAC’s brand identity, including voice, messaging, and visual standards Ensure consistent brand application across all communication channels and organizational materials Communications & Engagement Lead internal and external communication efforts to support alignment, transparency, and stakeholder engagement Advise internal partners on communication strategies to effectively reach and engage target audiences Build and maintain media relationships and secure coverage in regional and national outlets Digital & Social Media Oversee digital communication and marketing initiatives, including website content management, social media platforms, SEO, and email campaigns Manage SAC’s social media presence to enhance engagement, visibility, and community connection Ensure website content is accurate, up to date, and aligned with SAC’s strategic priorities Event Support & Coordination Plan, support, and coordinate organizational events, including promotion, on-site communication support, and post-event follow-up Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure events reflect SAC’s brand and strategic objectives Marketing Campaigns and Foundation Support Develop and execute creative, targeted marketing campaigns to drive awareness, engagement, and lead generation. Manage advertising initiatives across multiple channels, ensuring brand consistency and measurable outcomes Provide communication and marketing support to the SAC Foundation as required People Responsibilities Provide strategic direction and oversight to direct reports, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations Foster a culture of accountability through measurable goals, coaching, and regular performance reviews Support professional development and succession planning through ongoing coaching and mentorship Corporate Responsibilities: Participate in all mandatory training requirements and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Schroeder Ambulatory Centre Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines Be responsible for and ensure that all staff supervised are trained and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Schroeder Ambulatory Centre Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in communication and marketing leadership roles Experience in the healthcare or non-profit sector is considered an asset Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and operational execution Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media management, and website content strategy Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences, including senior leadership Demonstrates strong strategic thinking and the ability to develop long-term communication and marketing plans aligned with organizational goals Consistently delivers operational excellence by managing day-to-day activities efficiently and maintaining high-quality standards Inspires and motivates teams, fosters collaboration, and promotes accountability across functions Communicates effectively in written, verbal, and presentation formats with diverse internal and external audiences Embraces innovation by leveraging new technologies and creative approaches to enhance communication and marketing impact Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal partners, external stakeholders, and community representatives Adapts effectively to shifting priorities, emerging trends, and evolving organizational needs Uses data, metrics, and insights to inform decision-making and evaluate communication and marketing effectiveness Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check Ability to provide proof of immunization and TB records Schroeder Ambulatory Centre is a non-profit medical facility dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Ontarians through accessible, outpatient healthcare.
