JOIN OUR TEAM Position Title: Chief Compliance Officer and Deputy Registrar (CCO) Salary Range: $123,100 - $148,900 annually (equivalent to $63.13 - $76.36 per hour), plus pension and benefits Base Locale: Vancouver, BC (remote work options available for other BC locations) Forest Professionals British Columbia (FPBC) is the business name for the Association of BC Forest Professionals. FPBC regulates the practice of forestry in BC under the Provincial Governance Act and is overseen by the Office of the Superintendent of Professional Governance. THE JOB IN BRIEF Step into a key senior leadership role at FPBC. The CCO directs a small staff and works closely with FPBC directors. The position is the most senior member of the leadership team and acts as the CEO and Registrar when required. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead decision‑making regarding complaints against registrants and oversee related processes and policy standards. Direct the work of a small staff while fostering a cooperative relationship with FPBC directors. Assume full authority of the corporate leader when required. Oversee compliance oversight for Registered Professional Foresters (RPF) in British Columbia, or provide comparable compliance expertise from other fields. Advance policy, develop proposals and briefings for the CEO, Registrar, Board members and statutory committees. Represent FPBC positively in complex, high‑pressure situations, maintaining regulatory integrity and public trust. QUALIFICATIONS Strong background in compliance oversight and policy development. In‑depth knowledge of RPF registration and compliance requirements is advantageous but not essential. Proven decision‑maker, problem‑solver, and impartial judge of regulatory issues. Excellent negotiation, issue management, and consensus‑building skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small leadership team. RPF designation is advantageous but not required. BENEFITS Competitive salary and annual performance‑based increases, regularly assessed against the market.
