Location : Pilot Butte / Regina SK Position : Full Time Permanent Posting Closing Date : October Join our team as Superintendent / Executive Director of Education Reporting to the Vice President of Group Living Treatment Services the Executive Director (ED) of Education oversees and provides senior leadership strategic oversight and promotion of integrity provision of education programs to the agencys independent school(s) and vocational programs. The position will work closely with the Executive Director Group Living Youth Treatment ensuring optimal outcomes for participants. This position will act as the Board liaison representing education and primary contact to the Ministry of Education. The incumbent will foster an environment that promotes integrity and follow-through on policies and service delivery expectations from education program and business perspectives. The incumbent will deliver service results supporting the long-range vision and management of organizational risk through the development and deployment of new programs policies strategy and optimization of services. This role will be instrumental in streamlining program perspectives ensuring seamless delivery for youth and stakeholders. More importantly it prioritizes the well-being and development of participants making a significant impact on their lives and ensuring education programmingisfully integrated within care and treatment. This position is responsible for operation services and supporting decision-making accountability and service delivery with an education lens throughout. The incumbent is responsible to the executive team for Enterprise Risk Management ERM oversight. The Executive Director of Education oversees compliance with relevant legislation regulations agreements directives and policies governing the agencys financial intellectual and physical assets. This position ensures service delivery outcomes are operationalized not just according to industry standards but more importantly according to the vision and mission of the organization. Qualifications Masters degree in educational leadership or other appropriate discipline related to education. A working knowledge of special education programs Educational Psychology Curriculum and Instruction and / or Administration would be an asset. Experience Minimum eight (8) years of teaching and educational administration. Minimum six (6) years experience in school-based administration senior leadership and management role providing guidance support and development to team members and management. Experience working with individuals with complex needs behavioural issues developmental disabilities mental health disorders and / or other related issues in education is an asset. Experience with operational management strategic planning project management change management and analytics and reporting. Ability to develop a clearly defined and focused strategic vision. Advanced knowledge of educational theories and applications analytics and reporting. Advanced problem-solving analytical and decision-making skills. Knowledge of generally accepted case management principles and applicable legislation. Strong written and oral communication with effective presentation skills. Strong skills in administering budget and allocating resources. Expert knowledge of the Independent Schools Act and Regulations. Strong understanding of employment standards Occupational Health and Safety WHIMIS standards and other applicable legislation. Emotional competence and self awareness. Proficient computer skills. Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations. Commitment to professional development. Duties and Responsibilities Services Implements and oversees programs policies and procedures internal controls and external audit procedures regarding education and agency services matters to fulfill the agencys mission. Ensures that all aspects of the agency and education programs meet or exceed expectations by monitoring evaluation criteria congruent with the specifications of acts regulations policy the Child Welfare League of America Standards and the COA accreditation process. Operationalizes agency vision for expansion and excellence as it relates to educational program policy and procedure to fulfill the agency and educational mission and ensure compliance. Serves as principal advisor to the VP of Group Living Treatment Services and other members of the senior executive team with respect to education / program matters. Facilitates director meetings and attends program and senior leadership meetings as required. Provides leadership and direction to ensure the provision of timely accurate and meaningful management education and program information to fulfill obligations delegated by the VP of Group Living Treatment Services managers and leaders of the agency and all legitimate communities of interest. Provides program financial and operational information that directors require to understand impacts of their respective department to program delivery. Oversees financial and material transactions within the division are adequately recorded reported and controlled. Communicates long-term and major decision-making processes and decisions philosophy and policies of the agency and ensures a consistent approach throughout all levels of decision-making in the agency. Provides general oversight of the management of the registered independent school divisions and staff. Oversees all aspects of the education program to ensure they meet or exceed expectations by defining and monitoring evaluation criteria congruent with the specifications of the Province of Saskatchewan Education Act the Child Welfare League of America and the COA accreditation process. Oversee the delivery and implementation of Education including; recruitment and selection onboarding performance management employee relations training and talent management. Provide advice coaching training and support to Education in areas of expertise policies and procedures best practice and legislation. Support portfolios and projects as assigned. Leadership Provides leadership and guidance within the Group Living Treatment Services division and ensures that all actions are congruent with the mission vision and values of the agency. Responsible for the professional supervision to reporting relationships who in turn supervise the day-to-day operations and front-line staff. Builds internal and external working relationships with the various stakeholders to develop strong social services networks. Serves as liaison between directors and staff to drive quality relationships task management and coaching to promote leadership development of staff at all levels. Responsible for oversight of supervision training adherence and evaluations carried out by Operations staff. Responsible to support the implementation and integration of training throughout all program components. Provides leadership within both the division and agency to ensure that all actions are congruent with the mission vision and values of the agency. Influence develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure agency standards and initiatives. Participate in and support competency development succession and human resources strategies. Management of Resources Provides significant input to the strategic planning process of the agency and develops long-term plans as required. Develops provides advice and consults with Directors & stakeholders for the annual division and strategic planning budgeting and operational plans. Accountable for the effective and efficient utilization of resources for which the long-term implications are fully understood and accountability is in place at all levels of the program. Develops with input from Directors the annual operating plan and budget for the education service program monitors budget utilization ensuring that the operating plan is integrated with all planning processes within the agency. Accountable for the successful implementation growth and development of programs within the Agency. Manage the overall provision and implementation of related Education and programs for the agency. Coordinate resources in support of business continuity planning. Accountable for the cost-effective stewardship of all resources and assets of the agency. Safety Maintain promote and reinforce safe work habits practices and procedures. Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations policies practices and instructions. Develop and implement procedures for prevention of injuries and diseases in area of responsibility. Ensure employees are working in compliance with established safe work practices.
