General Scope Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Senior Geologist oversees all aspects of the surface exploration program at the Minot Mine. The Selkirk Copper team focuses on the strategic conversion of Inferred to Indicated and Measured resources while creating an exploration target pipeline both near‑mine and across the regional land package. The Senior Geologist plays an integral role in building the mineralizing model and advancing the geological understanding of the Minto Copper Belt. The 2025–2026 exploration programs involve a minimum of 4 drill rigs focused on expansion and infill drilling, working toward a feasibility study targeted for completion in early 2027. Key Responsibilities and Duties On Site Project Supervision Coordinate and execute surface exploration programs. Supervise all surface exploration work including drilling, geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys, mapping, and related projects. Lead daily activities at the core shack, managing logging, sampling, and core processing workflows. Supervise contractors on site (drilling crew, heavy equipment operators, geological team, etc.), maintaining high safety and productivity standards. Liaise with site management to maintain smooth operations and site service supply. Monitor geological data quality, ensuring QA/QC programs meet industry best practices. Report daily and weekly exploration activities. Geological Expertise and Project Advancement Participate in planning drilling, geochemical and geophysical programs. Build and refine deposit‑scale geological models. Communicate new findings and recommendations to the geology team. Provide relevant geological information to other disciplines and offer support as required. Plan drill hole locations and expected deviations to test mineralization and targets. Integrate geological, geochemical, and geophysical data with regional structural information. Particip in innovation projects or project evaluations. Assist with daily, monthly, and annual reporting requirements, summarizing key exploration activities. Report on target generation and prioritization, providing recommendations for follow‑up work. Safety and Environmental Stewardship Promote the company’s commitment to sustainability, health, and safety. Lead by example, demonstrating honesty, sincerity, and openness to feedback. Document and report any related safety incidents and infractions. Understand and ensure compliance with Selkirk Copper’s safety policies and applicable Yukon safety regulations. Implement all necessary safety programs and lead daily and weekly safety meetings. Coach and assist in the development of geologists within the team. Supervise staff and contractors to ensure quality and safety standards are met. Geological Modelling and Understanding Contribute to geological modelling as guided by Resource Geologist. Integrate geological, geochemical, and geophysical datasets to inform a comprehensive understanding. Schedule and Travel Expectations Schedule : Two‑week rotation at site during drill program with supplemental work from home. Workplace : Combination of Minto Mine site, Vancouver office, and remote. Travel : Regular travel to the Minto Mine site and the Vancouver office is expected. Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements 8+ years of industry experience and a post‑secondary degree in geoscience or engineering. Working knowledge of major ore deposit types in the western Cordillera region. High initiative, self‑motivation, accountability, and independent judgment. Advanced written and oral English communication skills. Experience in drill core sampling techniques, QA/QC analysis, and commitment to data integrity. Proven experience in 3D modelling, Leapfrog, GIS and Microsoft software suite considered an asset. Strong database management and QA/QC experience. Critical and conceptual thinking and problem‑solving skills. Commitment to safety, community, and the environment. Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and procedures. Licensed or able to register as a Professional Geologist in a Canadian jurisdiction.
