What You Will Do (Responsibilities) Apply your passion and expertise to identify, assess, protect and remediate the natural and built environments Manage and provide technical leadership for simple to complex contaminated site projects Provide technical project direction and mentorship to junior scientists and project managers on assessment, remediation and monitoring projects Work in a collaborative environment to progress your program and client management skills Communicate with clients and project stakeholders to maintain and grow project work Grow your technical skills, innovate, and stay abreast of regulatory change by engaging with a broader community of technical experts Join a flexible work environment with the ability to work remotely or in a local office Thrive in a supportive, engaged and motivated work environment at a respected environmental consulting company Role Details As a Contaminant Hydrogeologist , you will join our Western Canadian offices as part of our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team. You will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities including: Actively participate in and drive Montrose’s strong safety culture Oversee and/or technically support management of site assessment, remediation and monitoring project scopes, timelines, budgets, and communications with clients and stakeholders Prepare and/or review technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and reports Ensure internal communication to deliver high-quality products for our clients’ needs Work within a well-organized, innovative culture with support systems that empower professionals Transfer knowledge and mentor colleagues Be part of a technical practice community that supports growth at all levels Engage in development opportunities and career growth What We Are Looking For An undergraduate or graduate degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related field Registration in or membership in good standing of a professional organization (e.g. APEGA) A minimum of 8 years’ consulting experience in site assessment, remediation, and monitoring projects with a focus on hydrogeology Knowledge of BC, Alberta and/or Saskatchewan regulatory frameworks Experience with borehole logging, sample collection, field screening, and sample selection Strong data evaluation skills and ability to base decisions on findings Experience writing and reviewing technical reports, work plans and cost estimates and presenting to multi-stakeholder groups Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a collaborative attitude Willingness to provide technical direction and mentorship to junior professionals Experience with Workday is an asset Valid, clean class 5 driver's license with no restrictions Preference given to those with experience managing complex salt or hydrocarbon impacted sites Why Choose Montrose?
