Overview Fraud & Risk Analyst role at Lyft. This position focuses on investigating and developing solutions to prevent and mitigate third party fraud and to minimize the company’s exposure to financial and reputational risk. The Analyst will work with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Engineers and Operations to implement fraud prevention measures that balance security with a good user experience. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and improve comprehensive fraud detection strategies, real-time fraud rules and models in collaboration with relevant teams. Support cross-functional teams to build dashboards and tools to measure the effectiveness of payment processes, operations and new programs. Collaborate with Product Management, Data Science, Engineering and Operations to resolve identity or integrity issues and other escalations. Communicate complex information effectively with audiences at all levels, including executive leadership, partners, and individual contributors. Deliver enhancements to ATO (account takeover) detection and mitigation, prioritizing development with product management and engineering. Report overall status, primary business metrics, key issues and recommendations to senior management and executives. Establish business cases and projected ROI for investments related to Identity programs. Create robust, customer-friendly policies to reduce user friction while inhibiting fraud. Experience 5+ years of experience across payment, marketplaces, e-commerce, retail, digital media or financial services. Fraud or Identity experience is preferable, especially in the merchant risk domain. Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or relevant work experience. Expertise in SQL, SAS, R, Python or other programming languages to query data and perform analysis. Bias toward action in resolving issues in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Ability to execute projects independently with minimal oversight. Strong communication skills; ability to articulate complex analysis through presentations and writing. Ability to prioritize competing projects and collaborate across departments to build new capabilities. Experience managing senior executive asks with clear written and verbal communication. Structured problem solving with a data-driven, deep-dive approach. Excellent cross-group collaboration and ability to influence outcomes in a matrixed environment. Compensation The expected base pay range in the Toronto area is CAD $96,000 - CAD $120,000. Salary ranges depend on qualifications, experience and geographic location.
