The Conservation Council of New Brunswick (CCNB), the province’s leading environmental voice for nearly 55 years, is seeking a Director of Communications & Marketing to guide the organization’s brand, communications strategy, and public engagement. About the Role As a key member of CCNB’s leadership team, the Director of Communications & Marketing leads our integrated communications, marketing, and fundraising strategies. You will shape how CCNB tells its story, engage diverse audiences across the province, and help drive support for critical work in conservation, climate action, community engagement, and environmental justice. This role is ideal for a big-picture thinker with a hands‑on approach—someone who can both set strategic direction and roll up their sleeves to produce high-quality content when needed. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Planning Develop annual communications and marketing strategies aligned with CCNB’s mission. Guide organizational messaging, major campaigns, and public engagement initiatives. Provide leadership and sound judgment in crisis communications. Content Development & Editorial Oversight Develop and/or oversee press releases, op‑ed, newsletters, videos, digital storytelling, factsheets, social content, reports, and fundraising materials. Ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compelling storytelling across all communications. Approve major content for consistency, tone, and quality. Brand & Digital Strategy Lead CCNB’s brand development and visual identity. Oversee website content strategy, SEO, analytics, and digital advertising. Direct social media strategy, scheduling, and engagement. Media Relations Act as spokesperson or prepare leadership with key messages and media briefings. Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets. Coordinate interviews and media events. Monitor coverage and respond proactively. Integrate fundraising and membership messaging into communications. Lead donor stewardship and impact storytelling. Support membership growth. Ensure accurate, timely messaging across all program areas. Support grant‑related communication deliverables. Advance cross‑organizational alignment. Supervise and mentor the communications team and interns. Support professional development and collaborative teamwork. Event & Public Engagement Support Lead communications for events, webinars, public meetings, and launches. Ensure consistent branding and quality materials. What You Bring 7+ years of experience in communications and/or marketing 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and content strategy skills Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure Graphic design/layout skills (asset) Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred) Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset Adaptability, creativity, and collaborative spirit Commitment to environmental protection, reconciliation, equity, and inclusion Ability to build strong relationships with diverse partners and audiences Must be able to legally work in Canada.
