What we are looking for: As a Gameplay Engineer, you will work closely with Design, Animation, and Audio to create new gameplay experiences and take ownership over large gameplay features. You will be working on an early-stage incubation project so a flexible mindset is necessary, and your opportunity to participate in design and have your voice as part of the product will be high. What we will do together: Contribute to the design of our gameplay systems Develop, modify, and debug gameplay software in script and C/C++ Deploy, optimize and test gameplay software on PC. Collaborate with other internal departments (art, design, audio, QA, etc.) Document software and features for internal and external teams Participate in the code review process What you will bring: Experience developing games professionally, and shipping AAA titles Experience using Unreal Engine 4/5 A keen analytical mind, with strong problem-solving skills Strong C++ skills and the ability to code and architect gameplay mechanics and tools Strong math skills Well versed in games and the ability to articulate what is strong/weak about the design of existing games Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently Creativity in problem-solving and the ability to think outside of the established solutions Keen interest in games Interested… a bit about Escape Velocity: Escape Velocity is a team of passionate, talented developers working at a studio that offers excellent benefits, on what we believe is a once-in-a-career project with a committed publisher.
