This role leads growth for a Calgary-based Microsoft partner known for building complex, high-usage business systems without the bloat of large consultancies. has delivered over 350 solutions across 15 industries, and earned Microsoft partner competency credentials. The team is small enough to be autonomous yet structured enough to deliver enterprise-grade work. You’ll find a culture that values accountability and open communication. What You’ll Do Define the long-term business development strategy and the conditions for scalable, predictable growth Build a high-functioning sales organization that can execute independently and represent the brand with consistency Translate market intelligence into focused plays that align with delivery capacity and the firm’s technical edge Partner with the executive team to decide which opportunities the firm should not pursue and why Strengthen alliances within the Microsoft partner ecosystem to secure upstream and lateral deal flow Oversee the evolution of client relationships from transactional to advisory, shaping how value is communicated and delivered Mentor emerging leaders in the sales team, reinforcing systems of accountability and shared ownership On challenging quarters, re-evaluate assumptions and adjust the strategy Basic Qualifications Proven track record leading revenue strategy in a technology services or consulting environment, shaping go-to-market direction rather than just executing it Experience overseeing multi-million-dollar sales portfolios or regional business units, with accountability for both growth and margin Demonstrated ability to design and scale repeatable sales systems, from forecasting models to partner enablement frameworks Credible presence with executive and technical stakeholders, able to translate complex delivery realities into commercially sound decisions Preferred Qualifications Experience expanding a services portfolio or introducing new solution lines within a consulting or technology environment Background creating go-to-market strategies or partnerships that opened access to new client segments or geographies Familiarity with scaling revenue operations, from partner incentives to margin modeling and account tiering Experience guiding teams through the organizational “middle stage” of growth The Challenges Growth depends on finding repeatable ways to expand beyond a handful of legacy clients without stretching delivery capacity too thin Strategic decisions will often need to be made with partial information and visible accountability from peers and leadership The market is competitive and price-sensitive, so success comes from shaping the firm’s positioning, not just chasing deals Your Impact Shorten the path between insight and strategy, giving leadership clearer direction and delivery teams fewer pivots mid-project Create a steadier, more predictable sales engine that lets account managers and clients plan with confidence Reduce risk by aligning growth decisions with capacity, keeping commitments realistic and reputations intact Additional links Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Hammehr Talent Consultants by 2x Get notified about new Director of Business Development jobs in Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area .
