Maibec CanExel is seeking a 3rd Class Power Engineer to join a dynamic team in East River, Nova Scotia. Job Purpose: To safely operate and maintain the Steam Generation plant as a 3rd Class Power Engineer under minimal supervision when covering vacation for four regular shift power engineers and day work on various tasks as assigned by the Power Plant Supervisor. Qualifications 3rd Class Steam Certificate recognized in province of employment is required.May consider a recent graduate if only work hours are required to attain 3rd Class Certificate.A combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position is an asset.2nd Class Steam Certificate will attain a higher rate of pay as per the collective agreement for the same position.Experience with gas firing or biomass firing boilers is an asset.
