What you’ll do Provides design or drawing assistance for projects during the development and as-built stages of the engineered drawings. Works on projects with varying levels of complexity including the moderately complex design projects. Works from rough sketches, schematics, and verbal instructions. Utilizes and maintain Convergint project design, documentation and submittal standards. Reviews scope, defined product specification, application and electrical requirements for code compliance and AHJ Requirements. Participates in internal design review meetings as coordinated by the Project Managers. Communicates all design progress, committed completion dates, design scope revisions, and associated costs to the Engineering Supervisor/Manager. Performs change-order work only with formal authorization to proceed. Participates in initial site surveys and/or walkthroughs. Prepares submittal packages according to project requirements or Convergint standards. Provides operational support for the sales phase of projects when needed. Work may include providing training and work direction for other designers. What You’ll Need Solid customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted. Solid knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to security and fire systems. Must be a self-starter. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Solid proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel). Solid proficiency in AutoCAD viewing software. Requirements Minimum of five years of previous experience required. Minimum two years of experience in security systems industry. Minimum of two years of AutoCAD experience. Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or low‑voltage systems design coursework strongly preferred.
