Overview Direct message the job poster from The Mirillion Group Location: Toronto, ON Department: Global Trading Operations – Repo Desk Position Type: Full-Time Our client, a global investment bank, is seeking a Senior Repo Trade Support Analyst to join their high-performing team, complementing existing senior desk support and contributing to the long-term consolidation of global repo trading operations across New York, Europe, and Canada. This role provides critical day-to-day trading support , drives project initiatives , and maintains technical productivity tools that underpin one of the bank's largest revenue-generating trading desks. The position follows a three-pillar structure : 25% – Daily trading support for immediate trader inquiries and operational needs 40% – Project work, process enhancements, and business initiatives 35% – Technical tool maintenance and system improvements The Toronto-based role is part of a two-person team designed to provide coverage flexibility , ensuring senior team members can step away while maintaining continuous support for the trading desk. Responsibilities Daily Trading Support (25%) Provide immediate assistance to the New York repo trading desk for trade lifecycle inquiries, settlement issues, and collateral questions. Use SQL and other technical tools to quickly resolve trader questions, reducing response time compared to non-technical approaches. Support rate submissions to the Federal Reserve and other regulatory reporting requirements. Project Work (40%) Participate in enhancements to trading systems, workflow processes, and operational procedures. Collaborate with internal technical teams on infrastructure projects, including server and VM upgrades, and long-term sustainability initiatives. Assist in migrating existing Excel/VBA productivity tools to Python for improved efficiency. Technical Tool Maintenance (35%) Maintain Excel-based productivity tools used for funding rate calculations, Fed submissions, and trading workflow management. Validate calculations and automate repetitive tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance. Work with technical teams to troubleshoot, test, and implement infrastructure or system changes. Qualifications & Experience Strong foundation in capital markets; experience in repo trading is preferred but not mandatory. Technical proficiency in VBA for Excel-based tools. Experience with SQL for direct database queries to support trading and operational inquiries. Understanding of trading desk operations, overnight funding mechanisms, and trade lifecycle events. Background in product control, middle office, or trade support is considered a plus for candidates with strong technical skills. Acceptable Alternative Experience Bond trading Treasury operations or money markets Beneficial Skills Familiarity with Python and automation/migration of legacy systems.
