Overview Oxford Learning is seeking a part-time High School Biology & Chemistry Tutor to join our Oakville Uptown Core team. This role is in-person, with after-school, evening, and some Saturday hours. Responsibilities (Position Details) Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels Teach online and in-person Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies Fill in post-lesson notes Complete daily student communication updates Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times Position Requirements All Teacher-Tutors work during after-school and evening hours (4:00pm - 8:00pm) and some Saturdays (10:00am - 3:00pm) A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is a plus This role is in-person; you must be able to commute to the Oakville Oakville Uptown Core location Relocation packages are not available Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory Education Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered Teaching certification is an asset Good knowledge of current Grades 9-12 math and science curriculum (including senior math, Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, Calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology) Experience Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at Grade 9–12 (or equivalent) Strong English written and oral communication skills Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time Salary & Schedule Salary: $19 - $21 / hour Schedule: Evenings, Monday to Friday, Saturday availability Location Oxford Learning Oakville Uptown Core, 380 Dundas Street East, Unit 8, Oakville, ON About Oxford Learning Oxford Learning is a Canadian supplemental education provider helping students improve grades since 1984.
