Base pay range $96,431.00/yr – $127,035.00/yr Position This is a full-time 2-year term position. The Senior Manager, Course Development & Production (SMCDP) is responsible for senior-level management and oversight in the coordination of all course development and production activities for Faculty of Business (FB) programs and courses. Responsibilities Lead and strategically manage course development and production activities. Integrate the FB's Course Development & Production unit culturally and structurally with cross-department interfaces within FB and AU. Oversee workload responsibilities of department staff and activities of all parties involved in course development and production and related support activities. Translate the Strategic University Plan (SUP), FB strategic plan, and other documents and initiatives into operational activities for the department. Contribute strategically toward the planning, implementation, exploration, and evaluation of FB's learning environment and AU's learning platform. Assist the Dean and FB strategic and operational committees; participate in a variety of meetings with FB and AU departments and project teams, and hold membership in several FB governance and standing committees and in other FB and AU committees. Qualifications A master’s degree in education, business, or other related area and at least 8 years of related experience, including management or senior supervisory experience, preferably in the educational, publishing, or communications field; or a relevant undergraduate degree in education, business, or other related area and at least 10 years of related senior management or supervisory experience. Senior managerial experience, including development and monitoring of costs, external relations with stakeholders, and policy and process development. Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and team‑building skills. Experience managing staff of various skills and at different levels of responsibility is necessary. Management in a unionized environment is preferred, and management of staff in separate, virtual locations is an asset. Advanced knowledge and skill in digital publishing/course development and production processes, editorial, project management, learning design, design methodologies/concepts, and copyright knowledge. Excellent organizational, project management, analytical, systems thinking, and conceptualizing skills. Creativity and innovation skills are preferable and an asset. Superior writing and report preparation skills, verbal communication skills, and systems development/process methodology. Thorough investigative, research, and problem‑solving skills. Broad knowledge of diverse academic subject areas (preferably within business) is preferable and an asset. Advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office and related applications.
