Job Description To provide biostatistical support and leadership on a wide range of projects (i.e., health economics/modelling, evidence synthesis, trial analysis, real‑world data, and/or value communications). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supporting and/or leading biostatistics projects related to HEOR, including indirect comparisons (e.g., NMA, MAIC), propensity score matching (PSM) studies, real‑world evidence (RWE), clinical trial individual patient data (IPD) analyses, simulation studies, feasibility assessments, Bayesian statistical, and other related HTA statistical approaches. Extensive hands‑on experience using Bayesian statistical analysis (e.g., Stan/rstan, Jags, OpenBugs) to conduct network meta‑analysis (NMA) and multi‑level network meta‑analysis (ML‑NMR). Developing subject‑matter expertise across statistical project types. Support and/or lead company thought‑leadership activities on innovative HEOR statistical methods and biostatistical training for the team. Lead and support execution on statistical aspects of projects, including coding, interpretation, and written communications: Protocols, statistical analysis plans, statistical analyses, technical reports, case report forms (CRFs), abstracts, posters, manuscripts, presentations, and other report types. Support review and QA activities related to client deliverables. Generate analysis datasets, tables, figures, and listings to support trial re‑analysis. Support and/or lead strategic insights on methods designed to answer various types of client questions. Implement quality control activities related to statistical projects. Effectively communicate statistical methods and results in lay terms. Lead and/or support client calls as subject‑matter experts. Oversee or coordinate data transfers with clients to ensure compliance with SOPs and maintain patient confidentiality. Coordinate between statisticians and IT to identify and elevate technical issues relevant to statistical analysis platforms, including RStudio Workbench and BitBucket. Higher utilization targets relative to managerial biostatistics stream. Support and/or lead company strategic initiatives for technical or statistics offerings. Stay updated on the latest innovative statistical methods. Create innovative code in R, Shiny, or other programming languages (e.g., JAGS) to support cross‑team project work and enhance team efficiency. Delegate activities to and supervise junior staff and contractors. Empower project team members to take positive action and accountability. Mentorship of direct reports in the technical stream and delivery of performance reviews. May be assigned billable time to support project managers on matters related to project timelines, progress on deliverables, and scope. Support strategic initiatives regarding technical or statistics offerings. Support technical elements/subject‑matter in proposals to clients. Support HEOR statistics for cross‑solving and business‑development capabilities. Support repeat business through work quality and methods expertise. Attend strategically focused management meetings. Engage in hiring activities for biostatisticians, as required. People Leader Responsibilities Provide guidance and support to other managers on interviews, supervision of staff, office management, and company policies and procedures. Provide guidance and senior support to other managers on scientific standards, work methods, and performance standards; and performance relative to departmental objectives. Responsible for and oversee the respective department. Interview, select, and supervise the activities of department staff; communicate and discuss company policies and procedures with the team. Determine job objectives, work methods, and performance standards; review performance relative to departmental objectives and conduct appraisals with each employee. Authorize and communicate salary changes, promotions, transfers, discipline, and discharge, and administer all related HR functions. Expectations of the Job Travel: Some travel may be required for meetings with clients, stakeholders, or off‑site personnel/management. Hours: 40 hours per week; days worked may accommodate client meetings and be negotiated with supervisor. Overtime and/or weekend/evening hours may be required to meet project deadlines. Qualifications PhD or MSc in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related field (thesis preferred). 3–5 years of direct statistics work experience in health research, health technology assessment, market access, or a related field. Extensive hands‑on experience using Bayesian statistical analysis (e.g., Stan/rstan, Jags, OpenBugs) to conduct network meta‑analysis (NMA) and multi‑level network meta‑analysis (ML‑NMR). Strong understanding and experience in statistical methods that support HEOR or HTA. Proficiency in R programming and familiarity with reproducible workflows (e.g., git, scripts, AWS S3, Rmarkdown, R Shiny, RStudio Connect). Proven track record for HEOR and evidence synthesis. Proven ability to problem‑solve with strong capabilities in identifying and implementing practical and creative solutions to difficult problems. Ability to plan, oversee, and manage coding conventions in complex projects. Technical competence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a sometimes high‑pressure environment. Ability to manage personal and project team members across competing projects. Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with team and clients. Ability to effectively supervise, train, and mentor junior employees. Physical/Mental Demands and Working Environment Participants frequently reach, grasp, stand, and/or sit for up to 90% of the shift; walk, talk, and hear; occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Noise level is moderate quiet with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.
