Position Summary The Senior Electrical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing large and complex electrical construction projects from inception through completion. This leadership role involves managing project budgets, schedules, field teams, subcontractors, and client relationships to ensure successful project delivery. The Senior Project Manager acts as a key liaison between the client, consultants, and internal teams, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Centre Electric Ltd.’s standards of excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical construction projects from design through turnover. Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and schedules to ensure profitability and timely completion. Direct and support project teams, including site supervisors, foremen, estimators, and field staff. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and consultants, maintaining clear communication and strong professional relationships. Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with contract documents. Manage procurement, subcontractor coordination, and material deliveries to maintain project momentum. Monitor work progress through regular site visits, ensuring quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to project scope. Prepare and manage all project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, progress reports, and close-out packages. Lead project meetings and maintain accurate records of discussions, decisions, and follow-up actions. Identify project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve challenges. Support estimating and business development teams with tender reviews, design input, and value engineering. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability across all project stakeholders. Qualifications and Experience Education: Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of experience managing large-scale electrical construction projects. Proven track record delivering commercial, institutional, or industrial electrical projects exceeding $1M in value. Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction methodologies. Experience managing design-build, lump-sum, and service projects. Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Accubid, etc.). PMP certification, Gold Seal Certification, or equivalent credentials considered an asset. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required. Skills and Competencies Strong leadership and team-building abilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Advanced understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, and construction standards. Financial acumen with experience managing cost controls and forecasting. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Ability to mentor and develop junior project managers and field leaders. Working Conditions Office and field-based work environment. Regular site visits to active construction locations.
