Director, Project Management, Strategic Execution Join to apply for the Director, Project Management, Strategic Execution role at RBC Overview The Strategic Execution team is looking for a Director, Strategic Execution to join the team. You will be accountable for ensuring the team delivers projects efficiently and on time, supporting enterprise objectives while mitigating operational and financial risks. Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Execution, this role will manage the project intake process, oversee project controls, and ensure adherence to enterprise framework requirements. The role partners with project owners and stakeholders across RBC, leading project management activities on enterprise initiatives. What will you do? Work with the Senior Director to develop and manage the project intake and prioritization process. Oversee proper establishment of project governance and controls within the Strategic Execution team. Provide project management expertise and direction to support planning and execution, including strategic planning, stakeholder management, and risk alignment. Influence and align project outcomes to optimize benefits and reduce risks throughout the project. Accountable for the delivery of all end‑to‑end project plan activities. Manage all project controls to ensure effective governance, including project documentation. Lead integration of project workstreams, driving alignment across the project team. Develop and manage detailed schedules, identify early warning indicators, assess potential risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies in consultation with senior leadership. Establish and monitor project milestones and provide timely executive summaries and internal reporting. Prepare project material and support internal approval requirements. What do you need to succeed? Must‑have University degree or equivalent experience. 10+ years of global project‑management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior capacity and experience with global or large‑scale portfolios. Proficiency in project management software (ProjectPlace, MS Project or similar). Experience with Iterative Waterfall, Agile, and Kanban delivery methodologies. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, including executive interaction. Strong strategic and financial business acumen, with a risk and cost control mindset. Ability to leverage internal teams to develop better solutions and achieve a cross‑functional mindset. Ability to execute change in a fast‑paced, deadline‑sensitive environment while keeping the team focused on business priorities. Conflict‑management skills with senior management, internal customers, and colleagues. Exceptional stakeholder management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Nice‑to‑have PMP certification or equivalent (preferred). Experience building, developing, and leading teams throughout the project lifecycle. Change‑management designation or significant experience with change‑management processes. What’s in it for you?
